Motrec International seeks a highly skilled and experienced Director of Engineering to lead our engineering team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering management, a passion for innovation, and a proven track record of delivering high-quality products on time and within budget. As a key executive leadership team member, the Director of Engineering will also play a vital role in company-wide decision-making and strategic planning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the engineering department with a knowledge in mechanical, electrical, and software engineering.
  • Mentor and develop engineering staff, providing guidance and support to help them achieve their professional goals.
  • Develop and implement engineering strategies that align with company goals and objectives.
  • Oversee the design, development, and testing of new products and technologies.
  • Ensure all engineering projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Harness harmonious communication and collaboration with other departments, including sales and production, to ensure seamless integration of engineering solutions.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and excellence within the engineering team.
  • Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices to ensure Motrec International remains at the forefront of the industry.
  • Participate in executive leadership meetings and contribute to company-wide strategic decisions.
  • Foster a “get the job done” mindset and culture within the engineering team.

 Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (master’s preferred).
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and software engineering principles.
  • Proven experience managing complex engineering projects from concept to completion.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to think strategically and solve complex problems.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Experience in the electric vehicle or industrial vehicle industry is a plus.
  • A driven leader with a proven ability to foster a “get the job done” mindset and culture.
  • Bilingual (French / English) Perfect 5/5 command of both languages (spoken and written).
  • Lead a team of engineers, technicians, designers and draftsmen.
